Managed to drive almost all of the way to the Gorman parking lot and skied over into Lang for a walkabout. We found the return of winter & 10-20 cm of new low density snow over a supportive crust. Steady moderate (gusting strong) winds created variable wind slab in much of the alpine. A hasty profile just below ridgetop at approx 2450m on a N asp, HS ~150 produced 2 easy RP results down 15 & 30 in the storm snow and a hard Sudden Planer result dn 80 on an old snow interface layer. We avoided steep slopes, convex rolls and exposure to terrain traps. Getting around the lake was abit tricky aswell with only thin ice covering it after recent warm temps.
