Convective storms surround the pass with little precipitation

Snowpack

The snowpack on northerly-facing slopes near treeline is about 2 meters deep. Two distinct dust layers are visible in the upper 50 centimeters. The late February layer is about 40-50 cm from the surface and produces moderate propagating results where the dust meets a buried surface facet layer. Slope testing produced no cracking or whumpfing.
