Weather
During the day it was snowing S-1 with periods of S-2. It remained overcast/obscured all day. Winds were mostly calm occasionally blowing light from the NW.
Snowpack
Height of new snow was 30cm. This was sat on a crust. Near treeline on a northwest aspect the snow was faceted beneath the crust and about 100cm deep. In this location we experienced a whumpf while skinning close to some trees. We saw no signs of slab in the new snow and on steep test slopes there was no movement and the snow appeared to be well bonded to the surface below.
Avalanche
We saw no signs of avalanche activity.
