Cool temps; below tree line winds were mostly light. Snow throughout the day. All surfaces remained cool and dry
Snowpack
12-16" storm snow on RMP stayed dry and cold. The 3/4 interface is ~55cm below the surface and the 2/16 interface is ~70cm below the surface now. On E and SE slopes near and below tree line, the 3/4 interface was sitting atop still-moist snow, and a thin facet layer producing clean shears had formed adjacent to the dust layer. Generally, recent storm snows are right side up F> 4F>1F- from the surface down to the 3/4 interface. There is a sun or temperature crust in many places near the 3/4 interface. The layer of interest remains the large grained facets at the 2/16 interface. This layer continues to produce (terrifying) large rumbling collapses, with very little other hints of instability beyond that. No cracking at all and no new avalanches were seen yesterday, and yet I wouldn't trust that layer at all just yet.
