We observed 30-45cm of new snow above 2000m and had amazing skiing in deep powder. We were concerned about loose dry avalanches, storm slabs and the Nov. 5 Fc/MFcr. We observed no new avalanches and had almost no reactivity to skiing, aside from one very small loose dry. We observed low cohesion of the upper snowpack, but exercised caution given our uncertainty about the Nov. 5 layer. We estimated the hazard to be 3/3/2.

Facets over the Nov. 5 melt freeze crust failed in deep tap tests, with a sudden collapse fracture character. We also had resistant planar shears in the storm snow, though the slab was very low cohesion and no persistent grain form was found at the interface. We did not observe any recent avalanche activity, other than one small loose dry from extreme terrain and one small point release initiated by a skier that did not gain any momentum.
