This pit was dug on 02/26/21 Looking at the Haines Avalanche Center forecast we went out looking for buried surface hoar that they were talking about. We heard whumpfing in open meadows and when we dug our pit we found it buried 20cms down. It failed at CT (12) (RP). Also found 2 melt freeze crusts at 40cm below surface and 80cms below surface. 80cm deep melt freeze failed at CT (18) (RP) We set a small slide off on a convexity in steeper terrain. All this combined was enough to keep us off the steeper slopes for the 4 days. Starting snowing Sunday at 0300 and by monday at 1700 the storm total was 32cm @ road level. Probing around in multiple locations prior to the storm showed an average HS @ 330cm
