Weather
Sunny, warm, calm/light winds, winds becoming stronger in the PM, 21F @ 2pm at 11k feet. Light blowing snow picking up in the PM. Overall nice day weather wise.
Snowpack
Surface snow is wind affected in most areas above and near treeline, ski quality was okay. At 10.8k feet, on an east aspect near timberline, we found an HS of 185cm. The upper 40cm of the snow comprised of F to 4F snow. The midpack slab was around 120cm of 1F to P hard snow, with the lower 20cm of snow comprised of 4F faceted snow. CT27 down 40cm SP, ECTX, nothing in a PST.
Avalanche
Observed a small, maybe a few days old, hard slab avalanche R1 D1 resulting from a skier triggered turn below the Tasters Choice trees. Looks like they turned out of it okay.
