Weather

It was snowing and very windy dec.8 and 9. We didn’t have reception to check actual weather data at the hut. But as we skinned over to the west facing line we wanted to take just south of the Nokhu Crags, the wind kept pummeling.

Snowpack

We dug a snow pit after hearing whumphs and seeing surface snow fracturing from being wind packed. This was on a west southwest aspect right above the meadow. About 10,700 feet. 0-40 cm faceted Probably from early snowfall Packed 40-60 somewhat healed layer Light pow 60-80 from fresh snowfall (in some areas this top layer definitely was packed hard by the wind.)

Avalanche

None seen. Just surface fracturing in places and some whumphs.
