Snowpack

On S and E aspects, the snowpack is P hard from 2-5 cm below the surface (at 11 AM) with 2-4 mm of wet grain. The snowpack already went through several melt-freeze cycles, and it can drain free water efficiently. Areas around large rocks and other terrain features that can absorb and transmit heat into the snowpack were as hard as areas of the slope where there are no large heating bodies, on N aspect steeper than 15-20 deg. The snowpack is still dry and cold. The top 20cm of the snowpack already went through a melt-freeze cycle, but deeper layers remained clod. See snowpit for more details.
