At approximately 11,000ft on Red Mountain summit, W. Aspect. Light wind from the south. Snowing approx 1”/hr. Overcast sky. Air temp 12F.

Snowpack

We found total snow depth of 65cm, with approximately 13cm of new snow above 20 cm of faceted snow. Below that we found 26cm of 1F decomposing grains (?) and 5cm of facets at the ground. ECTN9.

Avalanche

SS-AR-R1-D1-I (approximately 8-12cm down). Red Mountain Pass Summit, near west side parking. West aspect approximately 11,000ft.
