Weather
Moderate - strong winds from SW. Upper champion was very wind affected.
Snowpack
No signs of instability on ascent. Some windslabs developed as I approached treeline. Thin crust present on more southerly aspects under a dusting of new snow.
Avalanche
I triggered a D2 avalanche on a 30 degree convex roll. The avalanche was 30cm - 90cm deep. It was approximately 15m wide and ran about 200 vertical feet. The avalanche broke on facets at the ground. The avalanche occurred at 11,600 and was on a West facing slope below treeline.
