Snowpack
Recently fallen 16-20" warm snow on top of hardpack & stable base. Southern base of Rabbit Ears Peak. Elevation 10,400 to 10,070. Aspect southeast.
Avalanche
7 very recent slides down small gulches on south side of Rabbit Ears Peak. Very recent snow slides. It was snowing very hard 45 minutes before, but there was no new snow on slide debris. Generally 20-40' wide, 100-800' long, maximum of 400' vertical. May have occurred during a brief sunny period 30 minutes before I skied by the gulches at about 2:30. Slopes facing southeast and south.
