Snowpack

Mashed potatoes at 11,300 and fairly solid snowpack, lots of roller balls and other cornices releasing with some large sized blocks.

Avalanche

This photo shows just after the cornice released a large section possibly 800’ in length and ran full on down over rocky cliffs and ledges over 1800-2000 down . Impressive snow cloud lasting at least 4-5 seconds. A second large piece of cornice released from the south of this avalanche approximately twenty minutes later, free falling to the lower valley, perhaps the size of two suburban homes.
