New Storm snow

Hi MCR Subscribers,

Just back from the Scott Duncan Hut.

We climbed Balfour Mountain yesterday. Winter conditions w up to 20cm of fresh snow on the glacier. The S Face was manageable w crampons and ice axes.

This morning we awoke to another 10cm new snow and whiteout to gain the descent trail. Snow to tree line.

It’s an early winter!!
