Weather

Sunny. Temps in the teens to low 20s. Windy with strong gusts. Snow transport near and above treeline.

Snowpack

Mostly cohesionless snow on north facing timbered terrain. 120-180cm. Scouring on exposed ridgelines. Active loading throughout the day near and above treeline on any leeward feature.

Avalanche

Wind slab avalanche triggered on NE facing slope at 11,900'. Triggered the slab as I wrapped around from an east aspect to the north. Approximately 300' wide, ran 50-75 vertical feet. Crown range from 4"-12" in depth. Not large enough to bury or knock a person over but in consequential terrain could be more dangerous.
