90-230cm of fresh snow from the past 2 weeks sitting atop 10-60 cm of faceted depth hoar.

Avalanche

Rider 1 entered x chute and ride skiers left ridge produced a small fracture near the beginning of the mid slope convex. Rider 1 outran the small fracture and rode to a safe zone to observe rider 2. Rider 2 dropped in, taking a center line of x chute, triggering the slide from the bottom of the mid slope convex. The fracture began at the top of the convex and propagated across mid slope over into z chute. Slide ran into the trees below, breaking some. R4-D3
