hot, hot, hot pow on the way down, calm and sunny with strong winds in the alpine. Heavy plumes coming off many peaks in the W. Elks

Previously heavily windloaded, 4-6" of new snow. Tricky layer ID. Really dense snow made for heinous solo pit dig.

Just the previously reported Bear creek, plenty of ski tracks into Bear Gulch
