Weather
Breezy from the southwest all day. Temperatures were right around freezing and the snow stayed cool until midafternoon. Skies were overcast all day.
Snowpack
The height of snow below tree line is around 80cm and soft throughout. I could push my pole to the ground and step to the ground when I got out of my skis. There was a bit of a melt-freeze crust on lower southern slopes but it was thin and breakable. In wind affected areas there were old stiff wind slabs from 2-6" thick, mostly northeast slopes. In areas that were less wind affected the snow was loose, dry and very difficult to travel on. It was breezy all day and has been windy in the area for the last few weeks but there hasn't been enough new snow to form cornices on all the usual ridges. Overall the snowpack was quiet, shallow, and weak. I could not find any dense snow below the surface in the snowpack.
