Intermittent snow showers separated by brief periods of sun. 6 to 8 inches of new snow below treeline and 10-12 inches in the alpine. Some areas near and above treeline have over 2 feet of new snow where wind has drifted the most snow on north through east-facing slopes.
Avalanche
This avalanche was triggered on a northeast facing convex roll at 11,300'. It failed on a layer of dry facets below a moist crust. The slab was up to 24 inches deep and consisted of about a foot of fresh, wind blown storm snow on top of an additional eight inches from earlier in the week.
