Weather
Calm winds with very mild temps. Nearest weather station (at the same elevation) recorded a high temp of 33F. It was windy up high though. The day started sunny and clear, and finished completely overcast.
Snowpack
The snow was more supportive than Sunday, but still very weak. As we skinned through unconsolidated snow we sank 1/2 - 1/3 as deep into the snow as 3 days ago. A welcomed trail-breaking relief! The best skiing we found was all about timing, as we hit a W (with subtle SW facing slope aspect variations) around 1:30pm that was more supportive, with a sponge-like moist surface texture. It skied great, but as we toured back up a different slope that was more S facing, we found a more stout 2-3cm sun crust, and widespread collapses.
Avalanche
Several natural avalanches near treeline on East and North-east facing slopes south along Highlands Ridge.
