Avalanche

L - North East Couloir of Hallet Peak, Rocky Mountain National Park E - Approximately 11,700ft. A - North Aspect S - 40 degrees T - This morning, the slab broke above 2 skiers while they were booting up the slope. I received a report today at 10:30 am from a skier who stated he was caught in an avalanche in the Northeast Couloir of Hallet Peak. He did not get any photos. The skier stated he and his partner were boot packing up the Couloir this morning when about 2/3rd's of the way up a slab cracked and propagated just above them. The reporting party stated he was carried 3 to 400 ft down the slope and was able to remain on top of the debris. He stated the ending debris pile was small. His partner was carried approximately 100 ft. and was able to move off to the side of the debris. No one else was caught, and no photos were taken. The reporting party stated he thought it was a new wind slab formed yesterday from new snow/wind.
