Weather

Moderate to strong down valley winds were continuing to transport snow through the AM hours. The winds calmed down a little bit during the early PM hours. Poor visibtlity. Cold Temps

Snowpack

The slab depth averaged 40cm at 9,200ft. Those slabs were reactive on the early January weak layers and often produced shooting cracks or collapses as we traveled. The little bit of avalanche terrain we got into was lass reactive due to previous avalanche activity.

Avalanche

Limited views. One small avalanche on a wind-loaded terrain feater above the Slate River. The crown was about 50cm.
