Weather
Cloud cover generally decreased throughout the day. A few periods with small snow plumes up high in the AM hours. Calm wind where we traveled.
Snowpack
HS averaged around 55cm. The midpack varied between F+ to 4F, and in general, the snowpack lacked much structure. One snowpit on a NW aspect at 11,500ft produced an ECTN result on the October facets. We ski cut at one crossloaded drift without any cracking. Perhaps the snowpack would have been more interesting at higher elevations and/or near a loaded ridgeline.
Avalanche
A fresh wet avalanche that ran today. Several soft slabs and sluffs that ran on the northern half of the compass between Tuesday and Wednesday AM. Some of them gained notable volume as they ran through large terrain, but everything we saw remained small in size D1 to D1.5
