Weather
This morning was the tail-end of a multi-day storm cycle that included 3 diff systems, each with different characteristics. Initial storm arrived on a strong, warm & moist SW flow, including hefty SW winds. We also saw a westerly component that brought decent snow; and last was a north-side event affecting mostly the Gorge on a strong NW flow. Exit weather was breezy, overcast to the north and very cold.
Snowpack
Finally have good coverage everywhere. Even the grassy south aspects are covered. Snowpack at all elevations shows signs of wind effect from both Nrly, Wrly and Srly wind directions. Depths at tree-line avg 30" more and less with drifts and terrain features. No wumphing or collapse experienced. Dug quick test-pit near treeline on an E aspect. Depth 70cm; 4F near surface; mostly 1F main pack; and at bottom found 1-2 cm layer of large facets/DH. CT3 x 2 on those facets at ground. Probably not quite enough weight and consistent slab development at this location for us to see more widespread instability... Above treeline is likely a different story.
Avalanche
With clearing vis around noon we were able to look around - DID NOT see any natural avalanche activity from the hwy.
