Weather

Wind loading continued on some east, southeast, and southerly slopes near ridgetop. Below ridgetop the wind was fairly calm and there was no wind loading.

Snowpack

We found up to 2 feet of unconsolidated snow on a northerly slope above treeline. The strong sun moistened the top 2 to 4 inches and triggered small Loose Wet avalanches. Surface snow on almost all aspects became moist today. We did not find any evidence of reactive wind slab but we also did not travel on southeast-quarter slopes above treeline where these slabs would be most likely to be found.
