Snowpack
Saturday, 1-15-11, ~1PM, we caused a soft slab release at about 12,300' right below the 12,500' peak above the Chattanooga switchback [above Cemetery if that's the name of the slope above the highway]. The west facing [about 260-deg] soft slab pocket release was about 75' wide, 8" to 2' crown and ran 50'. Snowboarder in our group was buried up to the knees and had to dig out.
