Snowpack

We were touring on Green Mtn above Markley Hut in the upper Castle Creek valley in Aspen and found a slide path from a couple days ago (during the previous small storm that dropped a few inches). We estimate the crown was about a meter deep and it ran for about 400ft. It was on an east facing aspect below a rock outcropping. It might have been triggered by a skier...I would like to link in a pic that we took but where do I do that? We also dug a pit on the west side of Green Mtn at about 12000' and the snow was highly unstable. After three light hand pats on a test section we found the large consolidated slab of snow from the big wet storm broke on a buried hoar layer that was 6-8" deep. It basically would have run to the ground. Super sketchy conditions on that west side. We skied trees on the N-NW facing aspect out of there.
