Warming, spring like conditions certainly well above freezing, saw evidence of more wet loose slides on the way out. No immediate wind loading, but there had been previously on the slope.
Snowpack
the snowpack was super thin and variable. the skier who triggered the slide with his ski cut said the snow felt very rotten and punchy when his skis were breaking to the ground along the rocks. heavy evidence of wind loading on the northern aspect where the snow was almost bare on the west and southwest aspects of red. towards the bottom of the ski very wet/heavy isothermic snow at and below tree line. noted bottom facet layers under that slide slid on
