Snowpack

ECT -12 on a 42 degree slope facing north at 11,200, failing on depth hoar at the bottom with a clean propagation, decided not to ride that and continued to a different aspect. ECT - 28 on a W/SW aspect, 37 degree slope at 11,700, failing on depth hoar at the bottom but no propagation. Did two separate tests with the same results. Once near and above treeline snow was very variable, changing from wind effected hard packed to powder, then back and forth. At the end of tour the south facing aspects that held a hard crust in the morning had turned soft at 1.00pm, did not notice any new point releases around cliffs and trees.
