Weather
Today we skied in the Anthracites. Snowing moderately all morning, with heavy snow and wind up high and on the ridge. Very cold with about 12-15" of new snow.
Snowpack
Saw multiple avalanches on N-E aspects, some small pockets 10' width, and some very large slides 100-200' wide. We skinned onto the ridge lookers left of 7th bowl and all of the east bowls had avalanched on old facets with 2' crowns, possibly a natural or skier triggered from a skier on the ridgetop. Going up we had many collapses and whumphs on the skin track. We skied down around noon during heavy snowfall, with good deep snow at the top of the run and shallow snow with lots of down trees at the bottom.
