Weather
About 3 cm of new snow (mostly graupel) overnight, winds estimated as strong at ridge top. Temperature taken from Bear River SNOTEL, cooler up at the reservoir.
Snowpack
In general, strong and consolidated. However, persistent weak layers still exist. In this case, two buried surface hoar layers. The Feb 15 rime crust is also present here on the east side of the Flat Tops (not reactive in snowpit tests). Southerly aspects had a supportable melt-freeze crust under 3 cm of new snow (mostly graupel).
