35 degrees F. time of day = 1400 Overcast cloud coverage. No wind. 8500 ft. S-SW facing 30 degree slope.

a layer of surface hoar was observed to be about 30cm deep. Compression test yielded CTH... No new snow.

No avalanches occurred.
