Weather
The morning was calm, with partially sunny skies. By 10:30 winds were moving a lot of snow ATL. At 9700' the temperature I took at 1pm was -14c.
Snowpack
The snow accumulated to significant depths BTL, up to 2 feet where winds had moved it. Having come in wet and dense and ending cold, the new snow bonded well to old snow and everything up top was right side up. Except for the very bottom where the persistent problem was pronounced and reactive to additional stress. The final 7 -10 cm of snow at the ground was predictably faceted and failed during two separate CT tests.
