Snowpack
Same old thin snowpack...Red 3 North face had slid nearly full track on all but the shorter, westernedge ofthe bowl. Strange, because this steeper face usuallyslides first. So, in essence we were skiing a thinner, de-energized version of all the conditions on other similar north aspect, above treeline features and peaks. Low snow near the topdue to high winds of recent past...max snow depth at mid run in the avalanche debris and about 30 to 40 inches in undisturbed areas of the mid-slidepath aprox. 11,500 feet.
