At summit Mt. Emma, 13581': clear skies, light winds, temps slightly above freezing.
Snowpack
No formal obs. Apron below south facing couloir was firm at 1100. South facing couloir was punchy, with a thin sun crust over facets, perhaps due to sheltered nature of this couloir and low sun angles until recently. Small wind slab at top of couloir, no instabilities observed. SW face and couloir were firm at 1400, corn observed on southerly aspects below 12,500' in Pack Basin a little after 1400. Thicker surface melt layer lower in Liberty Bell basin (10,500'-12,000') around 1445, ski pen approx 10cm. North facing aspects near and below treeline unaffected by warming, still powdery.
