Obscured skies with intermittent snow showers. No accumulation today. Temperatures were cold in the single-digits. No wind below treeline.

Snowpack

Below treeline terrain now has a slab over top of a very weak snowpack.---The ski penetration and foot penetration tell the whole story. Ski penetration was 10-20cms indicating a supportable slab. Whenever I stepped out of my skis to dig, I sunk to the ground, indicating a snowpack with very weak snow underneath the slab and a poor snowpack structure.---On a north and on a southeast aspect I dug a snowpit and got propagation in an extended column test in both pits.
