Cool in the canyon.
Snowpack
2 feet of facets in the shady, north-facing study plot. Not a lot in the way of layers, other than a couple of buried crusts. More sunny areas in the Canyon were holding less snow, around 12" on average. Powerhouse is filled in and faceted. Inversions have kept the snow cold and driven the faceting process. The high temperature today was only around 12 degrees F. Sluffs and plow debris have filled in behind the barriers along the highway, and a smooth track now exists for slides to hit the highway in many areas. Many small loose slides and rollerballs were visible on both the south and north side of the canyon. Several had hit the railroad tracks, but none made the highway.
