Weather

Snowed intermittently in the afternoon not more than S1. Less than an inch of accumulation through the day. Wind was moderate to strong at ridgetop out of the west and was drifting some snow but did not note any sensitive wind slabs. Temps estimated to be in upper 20s at 12k feet.

Snowpack

Below and near treeline there was no evidence of surface hoar buried intact. Snowpack is all faceted except for about 5" of 4F settled snow as the top layer. There is not one distinct persistent weak layer in the faceted snow, the snowpack is overall weak and the hardness difference between layers is generally less than 1 step.
