Steady snow during tour, about 1" of snow on my car when I returned after 2hrs. Calm winds and fairly mild temperature around 15ºF.

Toured from TH this afternoon to see how new snow was bonding to old snow, look for buried surface hoar, and to get exercise. Dug several pits which can be found under "profiles" in the observations tab. Found buried surface hoar in every test pit and hand pit I dug all the way up ridgeline. Any slight opening in the trees held the feathers 30-50cm below the surface. No compression tests I performed showed the SH to be especially reactive where I travelled. Avy Obs: 2 moderately sized collapses, one on flats in valley floor, the other when on flat terrain on ridgeline. Evidence (under today's new snow) of storm slabs that failed during the mid-week storm, many steep pockets seemed to have slid naturally mid-storm.
