Weather

Mostly sunny with temperatures finally warming. Only a very light breeze above treeline.

Snowpack

The snowpack has settled considerably over the past week and particularly over the last 2 days of mild temperatures. The late December snow has consolidated into mostly 1F slab and was unreactive near & below treeline on north and westerly terrain. Ski pen 15 cm.

Avalanche

Evidence of many more slides that ran mid-storm during the late December storm series have become visible in the last 2 days, as the snow has settled under mild temps. The avalanche cycle associated with this storm series was impressive and widespread, with slides running on all aspects and elevations, without exception. Only fresh activity today was very shallow surface sluffs (D1) and roller balls from steep rocky terrain.
