Sunny day. light winds along the ridge (could see some snow blowing on higher ridges)

4 inches of fresh snow from the previous days. On 3-19-2003 I was snow shoeing up Porcupine Gulch. At 11,473 ft elevation from the valley floor I watched the entire ridge to the east avalanche. There appeared to be several avalanches all at one time. I estimate that about a half mile of the ridge line fell at one time. The avalanches occurred on the east facing ridge at about 12:38. Time and elevation where I was standing are from my GPS.
