Skied up to East Paddy peak via the NE ridge. Widespread wind effect in the area, with windward aspects scoured and Northerly to Easterly aspects wind loaded. A whumpf was felt on a low angle NW aspect at 1400m where 30cm of hard wind slab overlaid facets. Shallow snowpack on average with 50cm HS at 1400m and varying depths of facets right above the ground. Breakable melt freeze crust on solar aspects and preserved powder on sheltered polar aspects at treeline and below. No recent avalanches observed. We limited travel to ridges and low angle slopes and avoided wind loaded areas. Wind was light southerly, skies were scattered, and a sundog indicated incoming weather.
