On approaching Vista Chute from the west there were two whumpfing sounds near ridge top from skier input. 30-40 cm of storm snow overlaying facets. Penetration foot was 40-50 cm. Vista Chute had signs of wind loading in start zone and on the convex roll at the entrance, east aspect. Guide 1 did a ski cut rappel that triggered a sz 1.5-2 slab avalanche. Crown was 10 - 100 cm, 4 finger - 1 finger resistance, and dry snow. Avalanche ran 100 m and stopped in middle of run out zone. The slab slid on a faceted bed surface. No other parties were involved.
