Amazing powder riding but rapid transition from foggy and socked in to warm beating sun through the afternoon, forming light melt crust. 30-35 cm new snow on top of thin crust that ECT and column test showed to fail on crust, but no sudden planar movement or propagation (N-NE aspect, steep microfeature @ ~1600m). Several point releases in steep features as temperatures rose through the afternoon, appeared to be mostly skier triggered
Snowpack
35 cm of new soft snow on top of thin melt crust. ECT and column test failed on this crust at 3-4 full arm swings, but did not suddenly slide or propagate
