Whitewater, Hummingbird pass report

Conditions were great but, small point release avalanches were observed on 30-40drg slopes in hummingbird pass west of White Queen mountain near Whitewater ski area. Large layer of loose new snow is present on top with denser layer between 50-80 cm down with a surface hoar layer sandwiched between that and a 80+layer.

Five extended column snowpack tests were done with one giving a positive result at 80cm down. Propogation saw test gave at 90% mark resulting is not a significant concern. A crust was observed at 40-50cm down in the snowpack.

Small point release avalanches were observed in humming bird pass in the whitewater ski area.
