Riders on the Storm

We were up in the Bijoux area today. The current snowfall is starting to reset all the old tracks from last weekend. In the meantime, there is still lots of fun to be had in areas less travelled. The storm brought enough snow and wind to rapidly load north and east slopes below ridgelines. We saw several small avalanches and significant soft cornice growth in these features. We gave these wind loaded slopes a wide birth and avoided exposing ourselves to overhead hazards like cornices.
