Weather
Cool with broken skies in the morning trending to clear skies and more mild temperatures. It was very windy at ridgetop but it seemed that loading was from overnight/early-morning winds.
Snowpack
There was about 6 to 8 inches of snow. On slopes getting more sun, the new snow had already settled to just a few inches. On wind-loaded slopes, the newly drifted slab, up 10 14 inches thick, sits on a very hard and thick melt-freeze crust regardless of aspect. I didn't dig below the crust.
