Avalanche Activity
The snowpack will be generally stable.
The Avalanche Warning Service currently has only a small amount of information, so that the avalanche danger should be investigated especially thoroughly in the relevant locality. Also high altitudes and the high Alpine regions: As a consequence of highly fluctuating temperatures the snowpack consolidated. Slight increase in danger of moist and wet snow slides as a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation. Backcountry tours should be concluded timely.
Snowpack Structure
The snowpack is fairly homogeneous and its surface has a strong melt-freeze crust. In the event of a clear night this applies in particular in the early morning. The high temperatures as the day progresses will give rise to increasing moistening of the snowpack in particular at intermediate and high altitudes. On steep sunny slopes below approximately 2500 m only a little snow is lying.
